Mobile Course Management System

Mobile Course Management System

My final Master's project was an application called iBear, a prototype mobile course management system for UC Berkeley. iBear was designed to address two problems: 1) the lack of mobile access to vital campus information systems and 2) the lack of APIs and open data on campus to enable developers to build new applications. My team and I developed iBear in collaboration with UC Berkeley through extensive research, prototyping, and testing.

Sketches used to create the paper prototype
Home screen showing list of departments for browsing and user authentication screen
Pages associated with an individual course
Course search functionality
Functionality to bookmark courses and generate a schedule
We conducted multiple rounds of user testing on our designs
Technologies: XHTML, Javascript, CSS, PHP, XML, jQueryMobile, Balsamiq
